What is Art Therapy?

Art Therapy subscribes to the belief that the creative process involved in the making of art is healing and life-enhansing.

It may be used to encourage clients to express feelings and ideas of situations past, present or future.

Art often can represent the emotion one is unable to verbalize, reassurance and comfort can be provided for overwhelming  or traumatic situations.

Art Therapy can allow a child to express fact and fantasy and communicate it to the therapist, giving them a new appreciation of his or her thoughts and feelings and clearer guidance to altering treatment of treatment of affective problems.

Art Therapy provides a way to communicate our innermost thoughts and feelings in a visual medium.
